Cardiff has been chosen as one of 6 UK cities to host a Flagship Event as part of the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games 2016. Bute Park is the Welsh home of this year’s event with the ‘mile’ routes looping around the green heart of the city. Meanwhile, cyclists will have the opportunity to burn some rubber around the course circling Alexandra Gardens and City Hall, whilst swimmers can clock up some lengths in the Maindy Centre.
We are looking for volunteers to support this great event in a variety of capacities ranging from:
– Assisting the event Stewards at the start / finish
– Assisting with have-a-go sporting activities in the Sports Village area – Assisting the event stewards in marshalling parts of the course – Distribution of goody bags and water

Work alongside Hockey Wales staff to deliver the hockey competition at the National Hockey Stadium.

Assist the Sport Cardiff team in delivering a new Cardiff Games competition that includes both Primary and Secondary pupils with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.
In the first of it’s kind as part of the Cardiff Games, schools will compete against each other in a round-robin format and as a volunteer you’ll be asked to umpire.
Boccia is similar to bowls where teams take it in turns to roll their ball closest to the jack.
